but the yards and streets starting to flood. >> five minutes past the hour now. let's say good morning to bonnie schneider. always good to have bonnie with us on the weekends. >> good to be here. >> now we'll have issues with possible tornadoes popping up. >> absolutely. >> it's causing all kinds of problems. >> a rough sunday morning, no doubt about it. lee as you heard from the press conference is a slow mover. the long it lingers, the worst things will be for that state. the ill-defined center is just off the coast. you have that wrap around effect. another big batch of rain comes into sections of southern louisiana. let's take a look at the track for lee. you'll see that the movement of the storm is still pretty slow, even as we go monday, tuesday, wednesday. we do see a rainmaker. it's like alabama and georgia and tennessee. some of this will be beneficial rain. the biggest concern for flooding will ab long the gulf coast in alabama and into louisiana where we have about seven inches of rain on the ground from lee. let's take a look at the newest threat from now. we have a tornado watch box

't actually officially formed yet. we want to get a look from cnn meteorologist bonnie snyder. bonnie, what are you seeing? >> reporter: right now we're seeing the beginning of a lot of rain for the southeastern parishes of louisiana and southern mississippi. i'll show you right now what's happening on the radar. you'll see those thunderstorms rolling on in. i wish i could say this would last just. it's likely to develop into a tropical system, maybe even within the next 30 minutes. we're getting reports that possibly for the 8:00 advisory the national hurricane center may upgrade this from just an area of disturbed weather, possibly, to a tropical storm. the next name on the list is lee, incidentally. so here it is on our satisfy per respectively notice the bright reds and oranges and purpose else. that indicates the higher cloud tops. they're pretty widespread across the northern gulf of mexico. wind shear breaking it up but you have to realize the water temperature throughout the regis 88 degrees. so the atmosphere is very ripe for something to happen. when you take a look at the compute

for the city. >> let's go straight to bonnie schneider. explain what we are seeing. >> right now what we are watch suggest say lot of heavy rains sweeping across the area as well as coastal sections of alabama. the rain is the beginning. we are watching for strong wind as well. even though it hasn't formed to a system, it's an area of disturbed weather we are watching closely. let's take a look at it on the satellite. as you forward from the mayor, it's a slow mover. the national hurricane center has not named the storm. they were looking for the closed circulation. if they find that and the tropical storm force wins of 39 miles per hour or greater, it will be tropical storm lee. that may occur tonight. we not only have the threat for strong wind and flooding, but the computer models have been all over the place and looping back into the gulf and back onshore again it has to do with the steering. they are so light, there is no influence to push the storm. it is so beneficial if they were pushing towards texas, but the consensus seems more of a northward flow. the biggest threat is the sl

is what we would love to do. host: time for a couple of more calls. bonnie, a republican. caller: i would like to know -- i read a story in "reader's digest" about a doctor who had studied a young man that had autism. he said he was a friend to the mother of the boy. he had found out that the boy had severe allergies. are there any studies that have gone along with that? guest: thank you for the question. i suspect you read that article about 10 years ago or maybe 15. there was a doctor in the uk who proposed the notion that he was recovering measles virus from people and was proposing a link. his papers have all been retracted by the charles the publish them. he had his license to practice withdrawn in the united kingdom. so i think that the scientific validity of that work has been called very seriously into question. there have been a lot of people -- people are looking very, very hard to find out what is causing autism. this is a terrible thing. would love to know the cause so that we can prevent it. but that study has been completely discredited. host: wilmington, north carolina, mel
